You need that real sustained sample end part. In any hardware sampler, when sampling a piano note for example, you are not going to simply fade the loop using release, and call it a day. It's been several years, but with any sample in the ASR-10, you have sample start, sample loop start, sample loop end, and once key up.play to sample end. To me, this is just what the doctor ordered - otherwise you'd run into massive problems with the kind of patches mentioned above.Īnd while I could possibly understand the wish for a different behaviour on whatever kinds of patches, I think that for most applications, this is the correct or at least better way. Thanks for helping me out here.

But what if you created a patch (say, a pad) that is supposed to continue to play for a while due to a higher release value? Right, what the sampler would usually do, was to continue looping your loop region and fade out according to your release value. Well, there's quite a drawback here: When you create a patch out of, say, just a snipplet of a waveform (typical example: single cycle waveforms), there'd be nothing to play after the note release message. Don’t take our word for it, take it for a spin and have fun We believe that this unique combination of features will make CR8 the smartest and most inspiring sampler out there. When used with COSMOS, CR8 will even apply the optimal stretching algorithm to the sample you loaded: for instance, when using a vocal loop sample found through COSMOS, the CR8 sampler will automatically set itself to a voice stretching scheme and turn “loop” on but when using an 808 one-shot it will change to a melodic stretching scheme in standard play mode. You can open COSMOS directly from within the sampler, and easily search and audition all your samples in the context of your session. We took everything fun and exciting about sampling and put it all into an intuitive workflow: In addition to all the creative controls you’d expect to find in a great sampler, you get 5 stretching algorithms that allow separate manipulation of pitch and time 8 sample layers with BPM & root suggestion, and a mixer to easily blend them group filtering, and a creative modulation station that allows you to drag-and-drop 4 LFO/Sequencer modulators and 4 ADSR envelopes onto practically any CR8 sampler control.ĬR8 also smoothly integrates with the Waves COSMOS Sample Finder. And it also allows you to get there quickly, with a fun, friendly interface that keeps you moving fast.
